Established co-working spaces in Colombo, Galle, and Ahangama usually have the most reliable connections for video calls. Some higher-end hotels and business-oriented guesthouses also have good infrastructure. For consistency, having a backup (good mobile data + WiFi) helps. Test the connection at different times of day — evenings can be slower when more people are online. Many long-stay visitors choose one or two places with proven reliable internet and use those as their 'office' bases. Ask other remote workers in local Facebook groups for current recommendations.
Fiber connections in main towns are generally good now. The issue is usually consistency rather than speed. Having a backup 4G/5G connection is smart.
Will identify 1-2 reliable spots and use mobile data as backup. Good advice.
