I am moving to Hiriketiya for a month to surf and work remotely. Which cafes or coworking spaces have the most reliable fiber internet and solid backup generators for video calls.

Verse Collective is the gold standard down here. It is technically in Dikwella, just a 15 minute walk from Hiriketiya bay. They have dedicated quiet workspaces, fiber optic lines, and a massive industrial generator. Dots Bay House also has a great setup, but it gets a bit noisy during the day.

As a backup, buy a Dialog 4G tourist router when you land in Colombo. The 4G signal in Hiriketiya is very strong and provides a great safety net.

Always bring a quality surge protector. The switchover from mains power to generator can sometimes send a spike that fries laptop chargers.

I worked from Salt House for two weeks. Their connection was flawless and the coffee is arguably the best in the bay.

Check out Click Radampola. It is a bit further inland but it is specifically built for digital nomads and is much quieter than the beachside spots.
