Best tea estates to photograph tea pluckers working.
3 Answers from travellers
To get the most authentic photographs of tea pluckers, visit the Lipton Seat area near Haputale. The Dambatenne tea estate there is incredibly active. If you arrive early in the morning around 7:00 AM, you will see hundreds of women expertly working in the misty fields.
Another fantastic location is the Pedro Tea Estate in Nuwara Eliya. The fields are located right next to the factory, making it very easy to walk among the tea bushes and respectfully photograph the workers.
Always remember to smile and politely ask for permission before taking close up portraits. Offering a small tip or a polite thank you is highly appreciated, as their work is physically grueling.
