My parents are in their seventies. Are the metal stairs too steep and exhausting for them.

Climbing Sigiriya involves ascending over 1200 steps. The final section features very steep, narrow metal staircases clinging to the side of the cliff face. For elderly tourists, it can be extremely exhausting and dizzying. However, they can comfortably explore the beautiful ground level water gardens and admire the rock from below without any strain.
