Can we hear the clock tower from this inland room or is that a fridge
Inland room. Partner thinks they can hear a clock. I think it is a fridge and leftover quiet. Are we actually hearing the clock tower this late, or is Kandy just the 4th having gone home on Ada's three-hour clock. If we can hear it, is that the midnight photo people arguing for.

I cannot swear whether Kandy's clock tower chimed or whether this room can hear it. Treat this late as city leftover - a scooter, a shop fridge, a dog - not a midnight event. Ada still has no Kandy wrap; that silence is the street. Do not walk to the junction this late to check a chime. 1,749, leftover cones.
If it is a chime, it is not your invitation tonight. Earplugs you already have. The midnight photo is the other thread's probably don't.

TukTuk or tour drivers take you to "gem museums" or "government-certified" gem shops. They receive huge commissions (up to 40%) on anything you buy. Prices are inflated 3-10x the actual value.
Men approach tourists near Temple of the Tooth offering to be guides. After the tour, they demand large "donations" or guide fees (5000-10000 LKR).
