Can you book a private party carriage on the Ella Odyssey train

We have a group of 20 and want to rent a carriage to hook up some speakers and party while going through the mountains to Ella. Is this allowed.

Sri Lanka Railways does allow the chartering of private carriages, but a full blown rave with heavy speakers is strictly prohibited. You can bring acoustic guitars and Bluetooth speakers kept at a reasonable volume. The Ella Odyssey is a premium tourist train, so they enforce noise rules to respect the passengers in adjoining cars.

Honestly, just book the observation car, keep the drinks flowing quietly, and save your energy. The real parties happen as soon as you step off the train in Ella anyway.
