Haputale is an incredibly quiet tiny traditional mountain village. It absolutely does not have a bustling lively nightlife scene or prominent public tourist bars.

However there is a highly functional fully licensed government wine store located discretely right near the main central bus stand where you can easily purchase cold Lion beer and local arrack to take back to your guesthouse. Many highly reviewed local eco lodges will also happily serve cold beers to their guests enjoying the view from their private dining balconies.
