Yes, you can do a day hike from Bandarawela to Bambarakanda Falls, but it is quite far. It is better to take a local bus or tuk tuk to Kalupahana first, and then hike the beautiful pine forest trails to the base of the waterfall.

The hike from the main road to the viewing platform takes about 45 minutes and is moderately easy. It is a fantastic day trip from Bandarawela, offering spectacular views of the tallest waterfall in the country.
