The main Hatton route to climb Adams Peak is about 7 kilometers long and consists of roughly 5500 steep concrete steps. For a moderately fit person, the hike up takes about 3 to 4 hours. Most people start climbing at 2 AM to reach the summit in time for the spectacular sunrise.
