Yes, you can easily walk to Kithal Ella waterfall directly from Ella town. The trail starts right along the railway tracks. You just walk past the Kithal Ella station for about ten minutes before turning off into the beautiful, quiet jungle path.

Ravana Falls is also technically within walking distance if you do not mind walking downhill along the edge of the main highway for about an hour. However, taking a cheap five minute tuk tuk ride back up the steep mountain is highly recommended.
