Hiriketiya cafes are charging western prices for smoothie bowls. Where can we find cheap, authentic Sri Lankan food nearby.

Walk out of the bay up to the main Dickwella road (about 10 mins). Look for "Roti Huts" or small local spots with clay pots in the window. They serve massive rice and curry buffets for 500-700 LKR. "Garlic Cafe" is right on the edge of the bay and offers a fantastic, cheap local buffet style lunch.

Garlic Cafe is the best. The pumpkin curry is amazing.

You can also flag down the bakery tuk-tuks in the morning for cheap fish buns.
