Just arrived. What's a normal price for a short ride inside the Fort or to the bus station right now?

Inside the Fort, short trips are usually 200-300 LKR. To the bus station or train station it's around 400-500 LKR depending on time of day. Some drivers quote higher to new arrivals — polite bargaining is normal. Many people just use the tuk-tuks waiting near the main gates. Prices have been pretty stable recently. If you're staying in the Fort, walking is often easier for very short distances anyway.

Short trips in the Fort area around 200-400 LKR. Bus station around 400-500. Bargain politely if the first quote seems high.
