The vast majority of the tourism industry in Sri Lanka has completely recovered from the economic impacts of the pandemic. While a few smaller guesthouses may have changed ownership, you will not find ghost towns or abandoned massive resorts on the south coast. The popular beach towns like Mirissa, Hiriketiya, and Unawatuna are bustling, fully operational, and arguably busier than they were before COVID 19 hit.
