Does travel insurance actually pay if one of us gets dengue this week or do they call it a pre-existing mosquito
We read the 93k number. We have a standard annual policy. Friend in Gampaha's cousin waited five hours at a government hospital then paid Asiri. What is the sentence I need on the policy PDF before we land tomorrow.

Read the wording for mosquito-borne / tropical illness / dengue. Some cheap annuals exclude it or cap "illness" after day 7. You want inpatient at a private hospital, evacuation, and a 24-hour assistance number that answers. Dengue is not "pre-existing" because you have not had it - they may still wriggle on "you travelled during an outbreak". Screenshot the assistance card.
Ours covered the blood test and a night at a private place. We called the number before we paid. That order matters.
Private (Asiri, Nawaloka, Lanka Hospitals) is where tourists actually go with fever. Do not wait it out as "bad curry".
