The nearest reliable government medical facility is the Dickwella Base Hospital, located just a five minute tuk tuk ride away from Hiriketiya bay. They handle basic surf cuts and emergencies easily.
If you need more advanced private care or stitches, you should travel roughly forty minutes to the private Asiri Hospital in Matara, which offers excellent international standard facilities.
For minor scrapes or to buy iodine and bandages, there are several well stocked local pharmacies right on the main road in Dickwella town.
