It is NOT safe to drive a scooter back from Whisky Point at 3 AM. The road is unlit dirt, and wild elephants frequently cross it at night. Several tourists have had terrifying close calls. Always negotiate a tuk-tuk ride before you head out to the party.

The parties themselves are very safe and fun, just the commute through the jungle is dangerous.

Also watch out for stray dogs on that road, they chase scooters aggressively at night.
