I am surfing Kabalana and partying in Ahangama tonight Is it safe to flag down a street tuktuk at 3 AM after the beach clubs close

The tuktuks parked directly outside Lamana or Trax operate as a night mafia and will quote you triple the normal fare because you have no other options. It is generally safe from violent crime, but the scam is real. Walk 100 meters away from the crowd and flag a passing driver to negotiate a better rate.

Never walk home along the beach at night. The stray dog packs are very territorial and dangerous in the dark.
