Drone photography rules over the Nine Arch Bridge in Ella
6 Answers from travellers
You absolutely cannot fly a drone over the Nine Arch Bridge without explicit written permission from the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA). It is a critical piece of railway infrastructure and always packed with tourists. Police are permanently stationed there, and if you launch a drone near the train or the crowd, they will confiscate it immediately and you will face fines.
There are also high tension power lines nearby that are very easy to hit if you lose GPS signal in the valley.
No, the entire airspace over the valley is restricted. Launch location does not matter.
Just hike up to the Asanka Cafe. The view from there is so good you do not even need a drone.
I saw a tourist get their DJI Mavic seized right out of the air by a cop last week. Do not risk it.

People outside stations offer to "help" buy tickets but charge large markups. They may buy cheap third-class tickets and sell as more expensive classes.
