I am planning a boat trip to see whales on the east coast Are the boats following safety rules for the wildlife

In Trincomalee the Navy and Coast Guard monitor the boats. Ethical operators stay at a distance. Avoid any captain who tries to chase the whales for a closer look.

The east coast is also home to many elephants near the roads especially at sunset so drive safely.
