A guy on Mirissa beach promised a 100% money back guarantee if we do not see a blue whale. Is this a legit promise or a scam.

It is a scam. Blue whales are wild animals traversing the deep ocean. No ethical operator can ever guarantee a sighting. The guys offering this are usually touts for rogue boats. They take your money, drive around for 3 hours, and when you do not see a whale, they refuse the refund, claiming "you saw a dolphin, that counts." Book online with verified, ethical companies.

Also, the rogue boats are tiny and terrifying when you get out into the deep ocean swells. Safety first.

Some legit companies offer a free SECOND trip if you do not see a whale, but they never offer cash back.

Thanks, we will ignore the beach touts and book with Raja.

Good choice. Raja adheres to WDC guidelines and respects the animals.
