Look into Kelburne Mountain View or Thotulagalla Estate. These are old British planter bungalows set deep within the working tea fields. You are completely isolated from the noise of Haputale town, and you can walk out your front door directly into the tea bushes. The views down to the southern plains are unmatched.

I stayed near Dambatenne. It gets freezing at night, make sure your stay provides heavy blankets.

These estates usually offer incredible home-cooked hillcountry food too. Ask for the potato white curry.
