Our whole group is going to the Mirissa beach raves, but I want to stay sober and go to a 6 AM Ashtanga class. Is it easy to find a sober, awake tuk tuk driver at 530 AM.

It is very difficult to find a random tuk-tuk on the street at 5:30 AM unless they are waiting outside a club for drunk passengers. To guarantee a safe, sober ride, ask your guesthouse owner the night before to pre-book a driver from their village. They have trusted contacts who will wake up early specifically for your trip.

PickMe rarely works that early in the deep south. Pre-booking is your only reliable option.

If you are staying near Mirissa beach, you can probably just walk to the yoga shala. Most places are within 15 minutes walking distance.

I pre-booked a driver and he was waiting exactly at 5:30 AM. Cost me 500 rupees extra for the early call, totally worth it.

Do not get into a tuk-tuk parked outside the clubs at 5 AM. Those drivers have often been awake all night and are exhausted.
