Galle fort to unawatuna tuk tuk price right now??
Just landed and the first driver is asking 700 for what google says is 20 mins. Is that normal or getting ripped? Any recent prices from people here this week?

Yeah 500-600 is more normal for that trip if you bargain a bit. 700 is a bit high but they always start high with tourists. Try saying 500 and see. Or walk to the main road and flag one there, sometimes cheaper.

Depends on time of day too. Evening can be more. I usually tell my guests 550-650 is fair. Don't pay 700 unless it's late or raining.
I paid 550 yesterday and it was fine. Took about 25 mins with traffic. The guy was cool.
Scam Watch: galle
Someone befriends you and offers a "once in a lifetime" opportunity to buy gems at wholesale prices and resell them abroad for huge profit. They may show you fake export certificates. The gems are worthless glass or low-quality stones.
Restaurants without visible prices. Bill arrives with inflated charges (500 LKR coconut becomes 1500 LKR). "Service charges" added without disclosure.
