Most people are using tuk-tuks for this short hop — it's quick, cheap (around 400-600 LKR), and convenient. Buses run frequently too and are even cheaper, but for such a short distance the tuk-tuk is usually easier unless you're on a very tight budget. Both are running normally this week with no issues. Tuk-tuks are readily available near the station and Fort area. The bus is fine if you don't mind the extra few minutes and want to save a couple hundred rupees. For most travelers, the tuk-tuk is the practical choice for this particular short journey.

Tuk-tuks are most popular for this short trip. Quick and convenient. Buses are cheaper but tuk-tuks win for ease on this route.
