The Kotmale region is fantastic for quiet trekking. Instead of the main roads, explore the small dirt paths winding through the massive, lush tea estates surrounding the reservoir. Hiking up towards the Ramboda pass via the estate trails offers incredibly peaceful, uncrowded views of the valleys. Always let your guesthouse know where you are heading, as these trails are completely unmarked on digital maps.
