How difficult is the Horton Plains World End hike for average tourists.

The Horton Plains circular hike to World End is rated as easy to moderate and is completely doable for most tourists with basic fitness. The full loop covers around nine kilometers and takes approximately three hours at a relaxed pace. The trail is mostly flat with only gentle undulations and passes through beautiful cloud forests, grasslands, and the stunning Bakers Falls before reaching the dramatic seven hundred meter drop at World End.
Start your hike as early as possible ideally before six thirty in the morning to reach World End before the thick mist rolls in and obscures the view. By nine thirty the viewpoint is usually completely covered in clouds and you will see nothing but white fog. Bring warm layers, a rain jacket, sturdy shoes, drinking water, and snacks as there are no facilities inside the park.
