How long does a traditional dance show last.
3 Answers from travellers
The traditional Kandyan cultural dance shows organized specifically for tourists in Kandy usually last exactly one hour. They are fast paced, highly energetic, and packed with various different regional dance styles.
The performances typically start around 5:00 PM and conclude right at 6:00 PM, finishing with a spectacular ten minute fire walking display in the courtyard outside the main hall.
This efficient one hour schedule makes it incredibly easy to fit the show into your itinerary right after visiting the nearby Temple of the Tooth and just before heading out for dinner.

TukTuk or tour drivers take you to "gem museums" or "government-certified" gem shops. They receive huge commissions (up to 40%) on anything you buy. Prices are inflated 3-10x the actual value.
Men approach tourists near Temple of the Tooth offering to be guides. After the tour, they demand large "donations" or guide fees (5000-10000 LKR).
