I am visiting the south coast and want to see the new international terminal. Are there major liners scheduled for late April 2026.

The Hambantota International Port is seeing a busy 2026 season. Two major cruise liners are expected in the last week of April. The terminal has been upgraded to handle over four thousand passengers per day. This has significantly boosted tourism for Yala and Udawalawe national parks as shore excursions have become much more streamlined this year.

Make sure to book your safari in advance if you are visiting during a docking day, as vehicles in the Tissamaharama area get fully booked very quickly by the cruise agencies.
