How to avoid the Sigiriya wasp attacks.
I read terrible reviews about giant wasps attacking tourists on the rock. Is it true.

Yes massive hives of highly aggressive hornets nest naturally on the sheer cliff faces of Sigiriya. While attacks are rare they usually occur when the hornets are provoked by loud noises or strong perfumes.
If the hornets do become agitated the park authorities have installed specialized mesh safety cages along the pathways. If you hear warning shouts immediately step calmly inside a cage and wait for the swarm to settle.
To avoid provoking them you must remain incredibly quiet while climbing the final metal staircases. Absolutely do not shout blow whistles or fly noisy drones anywhere near the rock face.
