The Hanthana Mountain Range features several peaks. While the trails are beautiful and pass through stunning tea estates, the weather changes rapidly. Hiring a local trekking guide from Kandy is highly recommended to avoid getting lost in the sudden mist.
Make sure you apply leech repellent or wear leech socks, especially after it rains. The trails are lush and green, but the leeches are very active.
