Pekoe Trail stages 1 to 10 in 12 days realistic for ultra hiker
I run 80 km a week back home and want to do Pekoe stages Kandy Hatton Norwood Nuwara Eliya in 12 days end of July Is the trail well marked enough to skip guides for the easier stages What is the accommodation booking situation in peak monsoon and which stages should I absolutely not attempt solo after heavy rain

Stages 1 to 4 (Hanthana to Loolecondera) you can do solo with the Pekoe Pal app for GPS Stages 5 to 7 cross multiple estate boundaries with unmarked junctions guide strongly recommended Stage 8 (Norwood to Brownlow) becomes dangerous after rain with leech swarms and unstable cattle paths Hire a guide for stages 5 to 10 around 6000 LKR per day Book guesthouses through pekoetrail dot com 14 days ahead in July they fill up surprisingly fast
Tea estate guesthouses cook stunning vegetarian meals string hoppers with coconut sambol jackfruit curry kola kanda for breakfast Tell them dietary needs at booking
Above 1500 m afternoon thunderstorms are predictable June through September Finish each stage by 1 PM Start 0530
Did stages 3 to 6 solo in March felt safe but the tea estate workers occasionally followed me asking for selfies bring small chocolates to share and it becomes a joyful exchange
Going to budget 14 days then for some buffer days Thanks for the leech warning bringing tabi socks and salt sticks
