Can I hike Kirigalpotta without a guide in April 2026?

While the trail to Kirigalpotta is fairly visible, it winds through very dense cloud forest and can become extremely confusing in the heavy morning mist. We highly recommend hiring a naturalist from the Nuwara Eliya pool. The weather in late April can change in minutes, and the summit becomes dangerous during afternoon thundershowers. Start your hike no later than 6:30 AM to ensure safety.
