Horton Plains and the Worlds End loop are open and the access road was repaired; go at first light (around 6am entry) before the cloud rolls over the cliff and ruins the view. The Knuckles range took heavier landslide damage in places, so a few specific trails had temporary closures or re-routes while paths were rebuilt; the popular routes are running but conditions change after rain. For Knuckles a registered guide is required for most trails anyway, and strongly recommended given the slippery post-cyclone ground. Check current trail status with the forest office the day before.

Did Knuckles with a guide last month, one of the planned routes was swapped for another because of a slip, but the day was still incredible. Trust the guides routing.

For Horton Plains leave Nuwara Eliya by 5am. The gate gets busy and the early entry beats both the crowd and the mist. Bring a warm layer, it is genuinely cold up there at dawn.
