The best way to see the 18 Hairpin Bends safely is to hire a tuk tuk driver from Mahiyanganaya town to take you up the pass. There is a specific, widened viewing platform located near the 10th bend.

This platform allows you to pull over safely away from the speeding buses and take incredible photos looking down the winding, snake like road plunging into the valley.
