Is it better to walk or take a tuk tuk to the Japanese Peace Pagoda?

The walk is a pleasant forty minute hike from the main Unawatuna beach, but it is mostly uphill and can be very hot during midday. A tuk tuk will take you there in five minutes for about four hundred rupees. The sunset view from the pagoda is absolutely stunning as you can see Galle Fort across the bay. It is very quiet and spiritual compared to the main beach. You can also walk down from the pagoda to the nearby Jungle Beach for a swim afterward.
