Point Pedro is historically significant as the northernmost point of Sri Lanka. There is a small concrete sign marking the spot near the jetty. Nearby, you should check out the Vallipuram Alvar Kovil, which is one of the oldest Vishnu temples in the region, and the beautiful sandy Munai beach. The road from Jaffna to Point Pedro is a lovely drive through palmyra groves and small fishing villages.
