Is staying inside Galle Fort worth the higher price and what should I not miss

Staying inside the walls is worth it for at least one night: you get the magic of the empty cobbled streets at dawn and dusk after the day-trippers leave, which is the fort at its most beautiful. It is a living UNESCO Dutch-colonial town, so wander with no fixed plan, browse the boutiques and cafes, and walk the full rampart loop. The classic sunset spot is the ramparts near the lighthouse and Flag Rock, where local kids do cliff jumps. Hidden gems: the quiet Dutch Reformed Church, the small streets behind the main drag, and rooftop cafes for the ocean light.
If the in-fort price is too steep, sleep just outside and visit at sunrise and sunset, you get the best light without the premium. But one night inside is a treat if the budget stretches.
Go up on the ramparts about 45 minutes before sunset to get a spot. It gets busy with both tourists and locals, in a lovely lively way.
Booking one night inside the walls for the dawn streets and rampart sunset. Thank you!
