I see this train ride mentioned everywhere online. Is it actually as scenic as people say and which class should I book for the best experience.

Yes this is considered one of the most scenic train rides in the world. Second class reserved is ideal because you get a guaranteed seat while still enjoying open windows and doors. The route passes through tea plantations, waterfalls, and misty mountains making it extremely photogenic.
