Yes the Indian Ocean off the deep south coast is notoriously unpredictable. Even on a seemingly sunny calm day the massive deep ocean swells can make the boat rock and pitch heavily. Seasickness is incredibly common among tourists on these specific tours.

If you are prone to motion sickness you absolutely must take a strong motion sickness pill like Avomine at least an hour before boarding. Sitting at the very back of the boat near the horizon line drastically reduces the nauseating bouncing sensation compared to sitting at the bow.
