We only have time for one tea factory in Nuwara Eliya. Which is more authentic.

Pedro Tea Estate is widely considered the best and most authentic tour in Nuwara Eliya. Because it is a smaller, working factory, you get a very intimate, educational look at the entire tea manufacturing process.

Labookellie is much larger and more commercialized. While their facility is impressive and their viewing terrace is huge, the tour at Pedro feels much more genuine and less like a tourist trap.

At Pedro, you actually get to walk through the fields right next to the factory and see the pluckers at work, which is a brilliant photography opportunity.
