Centuries ago the massive plaster wall was polished so intensely with beeswax and wild honey that the King could literally see his reflection as he walked past. Today after hundreds of years of weathering and thousands of tourists touching it the wall is no longer highly reflective like a mirror. However it remains incredibly culturally fascinating because the surface is entirely covered in tiny ancient graffiti poems scratched into the plaster by ancient visitors admiring the beautiful frescoes above.
