During the Sigiriya village tour, the traditional cooking segment is mostly a demonstration rather than a hands on class. You sit inside a wattle and daub hut while local women skillfully scrape coconut, grind spices on a stone, and cook rice and curries over an open wood fire. While you might be invited to briefly try scraping a coconut for a photo, you are mostly there to watch the fascinating process before eating the delicious final meal.
