Many photographers actually prefer the view from Pidurangala because the panoramic vista includes the magnificent Sigiriya Lion Rock itself rising out of the jungle.

While Sigiriya has the fascinating ancient ruins and frescoes on top, Pidurangala offers a much more natural, wild 360 degree view of the entire cultural triangle landscape.
