Is UberEats active in Colombo?
Arriving late at my Airbnb in Colombo. Are food delivery apps widely used here, or do I need to find a restaurant?

UberEats is very popular in Colombo and works exactly like it does at home. You can also download "PickMe", which has a food delivery section (PickMe Food) that sometimes has more local restaurant options than Uber.
PickMe Food is great. I ordered Kottu at midnight and a tuk-tuk delivered it in 20 minutes. Just pay cash on delivery if your foreign card acts up in the app.
Scam Watch: colombo
Driver claims the meter is broken and quotes an inflated flat rate. Common on arrival at airport or railway stations when tourists are tired and disoriented.
Drivers wearing official-looking uniforms claim to be "government-approved" and charge 3-5x normal rates. They may have fake badges or ID cards.
Women with babies approach asking you to buy milk powder at a nearby shop (not cash). The shop is run by accomplices and charges 5-10x normal price.
