I land at CMB tonight and bus to Arugam Bay tomorrow Are accommodations actually open or is it still pre season ramp up Whats the water temp and which break is best for intermediate longboarder Also is there still the post army Israeli crowd or has it shifted

Welcome Season fully opened last week All major guesthouses Hideaway Mambo Beach Hut Hangtime Hostel are operational Main Point is breaking clean 3 to 5 feet right hand ideal for intermediate longboard Whiskey Point is gentler good for first day Water temp 28 degrees no wetsuit Israeli crowd is still here in numbers especially May to August plus growing French and Italian scene this year Book one night ahead then walk in for better deals
Booties for sea urchins on Main Point reef They appear during low tide which is when intermediate surfers tend to paddle out
Elephant Rock is a 25 minute tuktuk away gorgeous beach plus a small bay break ideal for sunset session away from crowds
Sunrise session at Main Point is glassy and uncrowded 0530 to 0700 Then the wind picks up and crowds arrive by 0800
