We want to stay at a beachfront resort in KKS. Do the hotels there allow beach bonfires at night, and can we order a massive Jaffna crab curry to eat on the sand while drinking.

Yes, the resorts along the Kankesanthurai coast, like Thinnai Organic or the military run Thalsevana Resort, are great for this. If you request it in advance, they will happily set up a bonfire on the beach for you. You absolutely must pre order the Jaffna Crab Curry early in the day so they can source the freshest catch from the local lagoon fishermen.

Eating fiery Jaffna crab curry by a bonfire with a cold Lion Stout is the ultimate northern experience. Just prepare to get extremely messy!
