We plan to visit the beautiful Kelaniya Raja Maha Vihara at sunset, then hit Aluthkade for street food before going to the clubs in Colombo 7. Is this a good itinerary and what should we eat.

It is a brilliant itinerary! Kelaniya is incredibly peaceful at sunset with the oil lamps lit. After changing into club clothes, head to Aluthkade Street in Pettah. You absolutely must try the spicy beef marrow soup and a massive chicken cheese kottu. The clubs in Colombo 7 do not get busy until 11:30 PM anyway, so taking your time to eat street food is perfect.

Aluthkade is absolute chaos in the best way possible. Grab a falooda drink to cool down your mouth after the spicy beef soup.

Remember the dress code for Kelaniya! Even if you are going partying right after, you cannot enter the temple in shorts or club tops. Bring a sarong and a shawl.
