KMC park barrier is still down - are they releasing cars yet or do we wait at the gate
9.34 at one of the official parks. Van is in there. Barrier still down, one uniform on a plastic chair. Dalada is not a street yet. Do they actually release from the 13 parks before the relic street reopens, or is this a sit until 10.

13 official parks were part of the season plan. They do not all open the second the casket is in. If you are at the barrier, wait with the uniform, do not argue the loop. Walking to the hotel and coming back for the van at 10 is saner than a row at the cone.
Official park is the correct place to have left it - unlike the Gopallawa corridor van. It will still be there. The barrier is not a theft.
Ours lifted around the time Gopallawa was already moving. We sat on the kerb and ate biscuits. Do not invent a 9.45 release.
Scam Watch: kandy
TukTuk or tour drivers take you to "gem museums" or "government-certified" gem shops. They receive huge commissions (up to 40%) on anything you buy. Prices are inflated 3-10x the actual value.
Men approach tourists near Temple of the Tooth offering to be guides. After the tour, they demand large "donations" or guide fees (5000-10000 LKR).
