Ahangama is the undisputed nightlife capital of the south coast right now. Venues like Lamana and Trax host massive, high-production parties that draw crowds from all over. Hiriketiya is much smaller; it has a fun vibe at places like Dots, but the parties end earlier due to noise complaints in the tiny bay. For sleeping in, Ahangama has larger surf camps (like Camp Poe) that cater to late risers.

If you stay in Hiri, you can always take a 45-minute tuk-tuk to Ahangama for the big nights anyway.

Ahangama parties are essentially European techno clubs dropped onto a jungle beach. Very intense.
