Overnight stays on working tea estates that are actual farms (not just heritage hotels)?
I want to stay on a real working tea estate. Any recommendations that aren't just luxury bungalows?

Some smaller tea estates offer basic accommodation or homestays in worker or manager housing. These are more authentic but very simple. A few community-based tourism initiatives around the hill country connect visitors with estate families. The experience is very different from the polished heritage bungalows — more basic facilities but closer to daily life. Ask specifically for 'working estate homestay' or 'tea worker family stay' rather than 'tea bungalow'. These are usually found through local networks rather than big booking platforms.
The most authentic experiences are often arranged through small local operators or directly with estates. They're not heavily marketed.
